This was a horrible month. We had a band meeting on the 6th and things seemed a little off, but two weeks later, Marco quit blue number nine over a personal matter between me and him, and I have been a complete wreck ever since.
Photo shoot on hold, CD on hold, everything on hold except the DVD. Marco didn't do our one and only show this month, January 27th.
But the show must go on and did. Dave Bokhur filled in. We also had Jeff Witt on keys and on trumpet, tenor & trombone, Pam Fleming, Jenny Hill and Wayne Goodman. It was a great show with a huge crowd. This was the biggest NYC crowd we've had since our very first show. We pulled in so many people that I couldn't talk to everyone, as I wanted to, and there are so many people to thank that I'm just going to say THANK YOU to everyone who lives in the NYC area for coming out and making our show so great! Everyone in the band did a fantastic job. I will thank Salvatore for taking pictures, which I can't wait to see!
I recorded video of the night... I just set up the video camera on a tripod, so it isn't very exciting, but it's nice to be able to see that we really did put on a good show! Some of the footage from that night will be on our upcoming DVD.
Since Marco is no longer in the band, I have taken back over the arduous task of doing bookings and am not enjoying it. We will definitely be coming to Cleveland in July and returning to Altoona. We may hit up the Chicago area, too. We have a few dates in June. But we won't be touring anywhere near as much as last year. Not even close. Marco had said the same thing at the band meeting anyway, so I don't feel too bad about it. We do have an agent also working on bookings for us, but unless he can keep us working, 2007 will indeed be the final year of blue number nine. It started on a very bad note, but I will do my best to end it on a high note.
Our next show will be in April. I may book another Crash Mansion show before that, but probably not simply because the dates that were offered to us conflict with stuff I'm already doing.
